Compare Cycle Insurance
Compare cycle insurance in minutes and see what really matters: what’s covered, what it costs, and how quickly you’ll get back on your bike after a claim. Then calculate your individual Bikmo quote to lock in cover that fits the value of your bikes and the way you ride.
Why compare cycle insurance?
Cycling cover isn’t one-size-fits-all. When you compare cycle insurance, look beyond the headline price to check theft and accidental damage limits, worldwide trips, event fees, emergency hire, and whether key benefits are standard or paid add-ons. That detail determines real-world value when something goes wrong.

Compare cycle insurance vs home insurance
Adding a bike to home insurance can look cheaper, but dedicated cycle insurance typically provides broader protection, such as accidental damage away from home, event and travel benefits, and simpler, bike-specific claims handling. If riding, racing or travelling with your bike matters, compare cycle insurance designed for cyclists. You can find more about comparing cycle insurance with your home insurance here.
Value without surprises
Many providers list appealing base prices but move essentials into paid add-ons, increasing the premium when you add what you actually need. Bikmo includes a broad set of benefits as standard, so you see the true value up front and avoid nickel-and-diming on core protections.
With no trip length limitations or country limits, we are the only cycle-specific insurer to offer full 365 days worldwide cover by default. Customers are not penalised for choosing to pay monthly either, with the offer of 0% interest on monthly payments, something that can’t be said for all insurers.
We’re also able to offer a further 25% on e-bikes. This followed research we carried out from a survey and our own data.
Trust and claims transparency
Bikmo publishes annual claims data as part of its Open Project and is backed by a team of cyclists who handle claims online to get you rolling again quickly; independent ratings on Trustpilot and Feefo reflect that service quality. Transparency and specialist support matter most on your worst day. Find the latest Open Project here: Bikmo Open Project
It’s worth considering who the underwriter of an insurer is, as they will have an impact on the policy offered and any potential claims.
What to check when you compare
- Are theft, accidental damage and vandalism standard or optional extras.
- Is worldwide cover included and are there trip length limits.
- Are clothing and accessories covered automatically and to what limit.
- Do you get event fee cover, emergency hire and legal advice included.
- Is there 0% on monthly payments or added interest for instalments.
Solidity
With our policy, you know exactly what you’re paying for. We don’t increase customers’ premiums, even if they’ve needed to make a claim. The premium with our policies is based on the value of bikes a customer chooses to insure.
We don’t offer new customer or first-year discounts. Therefore we do not penalise customers who choose to stay with us year on year. Some insurers provide first-year discounts of up to 30% for new customers, but this is removed the following year.
Other insurers, such as Laka, state what you’d ‘usually’ pay, but if there are more claims that month from other customers (the collective), you could end up paying more each month. This is the case even if you’ve not needed to make a claim yourself or even ridden your bike a lot that month!
Example market benchmarks
Cycle cover varies by brand and whether benefits are standard or optional; the examples below illustrate how inclusions and monthly prices can differ, so always compare like‑for‑like benefits before deciding. Use these as directional benchmarks, then calculate your individual quote for accuracy.
- Bikmo PLUS: broad benefits included as standard; sample prices from £7.29 to £32.20 per month depending on bike values.
- Laka COMPLETE: several items optional; sample monthly figures often presented as “usually pay,” which can vary.
- Yellow Jersey Performance: many core benefits included; sample prices in mid-to-upper range vs similar bike values.
- Eversure cycle policy: more benefits offered as options; lower base prices that rise when options are added.
