No – with our Electric Cargo Bike and Cycle Insurance policies you have the option to choose cover that includes just theft (CLIK) or a policy that has both theft and accidental damage (GO or PLUS).

Check out our Open Project 2023No – with our electric cargo bike insurance policy, we can only cover pedal-assisted electric bikes that have a maximum power output of 250 watts, are restricted to 15.5mph or 25 km/h and cannot be ridden by someone under the age of 14.
If you use a de-restrictor kit, your e-bike motor has more power as standard, or you have a button/twist & go throttle (not walk assist mode), then your insurance will be invalid and the bike comes under the Road Traffic Act, which means tax and licensing – www.gov.uk/electric-bike-rules

If you have chosen to include Business Use, and this is shown on your Policy Schedule, then you are covered for using your cargo bike to travel to appointments and meetings in relation to your work.
This does not provide cover for other trade or business purposes, deliveries, hire or reward, courier services, food delivery, or the carriage of fare-paying passengers.
