B Corp certified for 2-wheeled inspiration

We’re pleased to announce our B Corp certification with the world! As a regular commuter and Roadie, I’ve always been aware of environmental impacts like air pollution and the usual recycling challenges in the office, but I wanted to help take it one step further, by proving that we can be a force for good across the whole of our business. 

When it was announced that we’d need a ‘Sustainability Squad’ to help gain our B Corp certification, I jumped at the chance to positively contribute to something with a bigger purpose, as a part of my day job. 

B Corporations (or B Corps) are a growing group of companies who are reinventing business, by pursuing purpose as well as profit. Bikmo has been certified by B Lab as having met rigorous social and environmental standards which represent its commitment to goals outside of shareholder profit.

A force for good – protect, enable + inspire

First and foremost, we protect our riders, but it doesn’t stop there. We care about our environment which is why we’re committing to becoming carbon neutral by the end of 2020. As a team, we want to do everything we can to help so we aim to have more time in the saddle and less behind the steering wheel.

For me, all of our goals are as important as each other, but one stands out. I’ve always wanted to inspire people to get on two wheels. Riding a bike has a different meaning to each person, and that’s exactly why I love it. Whether it makes you feel healthier or helps you do your bit for the environment, it’s something which has the potential for everyone to enjoy.

We plan to inspire thousands to pedal their way to a healthier and sustainable life by leading bike experiences for all. It’s going to take a lot of time and effort but the rewards are worth it; the smiling faces, healthier bodies, and movement produced by calories, not fossil fuels.
