Are you searching for your next cycling adventure? Look no further. We’re hosting our very own Balkans Breakaway Exclusive Departure thanks to our vastly experienced tour operating partner, Spice Roads.

Your typical cycling tour destinations include the Alps, Mallorca or Tenerife, but we wanted to offer somewhere special, unique and unexplored. With the help of our friends from Spice Roads, we decided that the heart of the Balkans would be the perfect fit for those who want to do some awesome off-season road cycling.

Pretty epic, eh?

With breathtaking views of sparkling lakes, national parks, historic towns and quaint villages, it’s simply a roadie’s dream. It won’t be a ride in the park though, you’ll be covering 291 miles and four countries in total; averaging 3,608ft of climbing per day. If you’re a keen cyclist who loves to explore, this one’s for you!

A special trip, just for you

We want the trip to be worry-free, so all you’ll have to do is enjoy a trip of a lifetime and keep those legs moving. You’ll have a well-experienced guide to keep you on the right path and support vehicles on hand if you need some snacks and drinks to keep you going and to transport your luggage to your next destination.

We’ve sorted awesome accommodation en-route too, so you can get some well-needed rest after a long day in the saddle. To make the trip extra special, we’ll be giving everyone who joins our exclusive departure a Balkans travel essentials pack worth £100. This will include some goodies from our trusted partners in the cycling industry and everything you need to keep you pedalling.

Exploring the Balkans by bike

The trip begins in Montenegro’s mountain-town, Kolasin, where you’ll cycle through villages which were barely accessible just two years ago. From here, you’ll follow the Tara river before climbing to a pass in the Komovi mountains. Travelling south, you’ll enter Albania, climbing and descending towards the breathtaking Lake Skadar and back into Montenegro.

Following the lake and through Montenegrin villages, you’ll rise above the world-famous Bay of Kotor in the National Park Lovcen. Then, you’ll pass briefly into Croatia before heading to Trebinje, Bosnia and Herzegovina. To conclude the trip, and heading through the wonderfully scenic vineyards of Trebinje, you’ll cycle west towards Ston, Croatia which hosts one of the largest defensive walls in the world, second only to the Great Wall of China.
