Polly found her love for cycling during her 30s’, connecting the experience on her mountain bike to a feeling you get during a yoga flow. Mind off – body on.
You can join Polly guiding with MTB Wales, especially the women-specific groups or during her cycling/hiking yoga adventures with Mountain Yoga Breaks.
First name: Polly Surname: Clark Location: Mid Wales Background: Yoga Teacher and Mountain Girl. Spent most of my early life on horseback, on the mountains, on my own. Now mainly spend time on mountain bikes guiding groups or riding for fun.
What bikes do you own?
Saracen Kili Flyer, Saracen Mantra Carbon, Genesis Croix de Fer.
I have a few….the Croix der Fer Ti is probably top of the list.
Favourite ride or trail?
In Wales for built trails, it would have to be Brechfa Forest..beautifully designed and so quiet too. Any of the wild routes in Snowdonia or the Brecon Beacons make me happy.
Brendan Semenuk for his effortless style and superb skills.
Favourite cafe/coffee shop?
Wrights Food Emporium West Wales.
Coffee of choice?
What motivates you about riding?
Breathing fresh air, being able to leave the rest of life behind as you pedal into the hills, being fully in the moment and getting the good adrenaline buzz…its a healthy way to get high!
Riding tunes (turbo…obviously)?
Arcade Fire “Everything Now” First Aid Kit – “Emmy Lou”
When not riding, where can we find you?
On my yoga mat or in the kitchen cooking up delicious food.
Favourite thing about Bikmo?
It’s run by people who are passionate about all things bike – what’s not to love about that?
